Totally agree with your comments re Ebike climbing. I’m on the Central Coast and there are a myriad of fire trails I never even knew existed. Many have been improved post the fires and flooding events. Views are spectacular.

I had to do a cheappy one this way. Gave it 12v at 2a for a few minutes and the bms reset. I had run it flat by leaving the inverter on.

Not to brag........but I always ride that hill. I've never gotten off the bike but many people do walk it. The Oaks is a real good ride though.

Over the years looking for replacement parts, whether it was Jeep, Subaru, Chevy or even Eagle, Rockauto has never let me down. I was having turn signal issues with my 08 Jeep Patriot and replacing both of those parts didn`t work.. it was a grounding issue.

I don't think it's ever jumped teeth, starts and runs well. Just makes noise at cold start, especially in cold weather. So timing will probably be right when i pin the old one before removing (and pin new one before installing)?

Also, another concern. If my old unit is somewhat defective, will lining up the holes of it before removing possibly not assure TDC?

Why do you turn the unit to the left when removing, then the right when replacing? Curious, as I'll be doing this soon, thanks EDIT: I believe it's the helical cut of the gears

Nice review. I have victron system aswell but 1 important think for you. Your electric bike charger is 42V * 4,5 A = 189 watt. Plus other stuff and you said that around 265 wats is going from your 12 V 250 VA victron. But it is not 250 wat inverter, it is only marking which use victron, marketing stuff ! - You did not red Victron product spec sheet correctly. Victron 12 /250 is made for optimal use : 25°C/40°C: 200W/175W and max is 400 wats. So for long term usage you are not in range of 200 wats. Yes , now your 12 / 250 victron works, but for how long when you make him work above recomended wattage? If 400 watt is considered as 100% then 265 wats is 66,25 % You shoul rather change it to 12 / 375 victron type ( maybe 20 bucks more) which is made for this range 25°C/40°C: 300/260W and max is 700 wats. If 700 watt is considered as 100% then 265 wats is 37,85 % Put yourself a question. Is is better to run "engine" which uses everyday 66,25 % or only 37,85 % of its maximum power . Which one will last longer ? All depends what powerdraw you want to use. Cheers.
